Insurance
Selection
in the Coverages Module
When selecting a patient's insurance in
the
Coverages module, you want to be
able
to find the correct carrier and not make duplicate insurance company
records.
When entering a new Coverage record for a patient, and you do not know the Ins Code, clicking on Pick List gives you the dialog below.
If
you
cannot find the carrier you want from the dialog above, which is
located
in the Coverage module, click on the Insurance Module
button.
This brings forward the pick list shown below.
Since you could not find an insurance using selection dialog in Coverages, it is best to
click the
Entry button at the top of
the
list and perform a typical find. Click the Find button
and
the dialog below appears.
- The Insurance Name
field is for any part of the
name
- If you know the Insurance
Code enter it
- If you have the patient's
insurance card and there is a
phone number on it, enter that number in the Any Phone or Fax
field.
- In Address(partial OK)
enter any part of the address.
If you have the post office box number, enter it here to search on. For
example,
if the address on the insurance card is "Post Office Box 7739", then
enter
just "7739" and click Find.
If more than one record matches your
request
you get the same list view as shown above. If one record matches you
are
shown that single record.
Because you came to the Insurance module from Coverages,
PracticeMaker® remembers that you want to select an insurance. Once
you
find the insurance, return to the Coverages
module (just click the Go button) and you get the dialog
below.
- If you want to use the
selected
insurance (its name appears in the dialog) click OK.
- If you want to try to find
another, click Try again.
- To return to Coverages without selecting this
insurance,
click Cancel.
